Philip C. Yee, Managing Director, is global head of the architectural and engineering group within the Real Estate Equity Business. He is responsible for managing every aspect of BlackRock Realty's development projects, final approval on physical and environmental due diligence for all equity transactions, providing strategic advice on capital budgeting during underwriting, and heading up special projects for the asset management and disposition groups. Mr. Yee is also head of sustainability efforts for North America. Mr. Yee leads a team of internal engineering professionals focused on reviewing and implementing solutions for our transactions group and recommending practical, cost effective real estate investment programs and budgets from an architectural / engineering viewpoint. His group is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of physical underwriting assumptions, negotiations of development agreements, accuracy of development schedules, budgets, closing deadlines, and oversight of our Joint Venture Partners during development.

Mr. Yee has over 24 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a Senior Due Diligence Officer for real estate acquisitions at the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio), where he was in charge of all engineering and environmental issues for a $7 billion real estate fund. At STRS Ohio, he was also responsible for multiple ground up development of high-end office, multi-family, retail, and industrial projects in excess of $4 billion. Previous, Mr. Yee held the position of Project Executive at Jones Lang Wootton Realty Advisors, and the title of Vice President at Integrated Resources, Inc., where he worked jointly with portfolio managers and acquisition directors managing $18 billion in real estate.

Mr. Yee earned a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1986 from Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, and an MBA from Pace University in New York, in 1991.

Grace Gu, Director, is a portfolio manager of The BlackRock Obsidian Fund, focusing on global macro investing. Prior to joining Obsidian, Ms. Gu was the Lead Portfolio Manager of The BlackRock Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund (MuSt).

Ms. Gu's service with the firm dates back to 2008, where she was a Lead Portfolio Manager of BlackRock's multi-asset group and a member of the Global Multi-Asset Investment Committee responsible for alpha generation and investment policy setting of over 50bn AUM. Her investment process included absolute return, total return, and real return strategies with a top-down focus. Prior to joining BlackRock, Ms. Gu was a portfolio manager of Goldman Sach's flagship Global Alpha Hedge Fund. At GSAM she developed and managed a number of fixed income and macro strategies including credit, rates, currency, and volatility, with a book of nearly 30bn gross notional.

Ms. Gu earned a BS degree, with highest distinction, in Electrical Engineering and a MS degree in Financial Mathematics, both from Stanford University. At Stanford she was recipient of the President Scholarship for top undergrad and Frederick Terman Award for best engineering student. Ms. Gu was ranked #1 gold medalist in the Singapore Physics Olympiad in 2000.

Sandy has worked extensively with institutions, pension plans, and private individuals on alternative investment placements. She possesses expertise in launching and customizing financial products for investors and is fluent in a range of investment strategies. Prior to Eight Seven and its predecessor, Sandy had been a specialist in product development and investor relations at the D. E. Shaw group, a $32bn alternative investment and technology development firm. She began her financial services career in the distressed debt space, on Morgan Stanley’s fixed income desk in New York.

Sandy received a B.A. in History from Yale University and an M.A. in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. She holds Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses. She is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). Sandy is based in New York and is active in her alumni communities, as well as in organizations that support women’s empowerment and financial literacy.

Ian joined Touchstone in 2012 and raises institutional capital for private equity, VC, mezzanine, credit and other illiquid alternative investment strategies, as well as advising on secondary transactions and co-investments. He is also an advisor to Invescap Ltd (UK) and Montague Goldsmith Capital (Switzerland), both principal investors in the illiquid alternatives space.


Prior to Touchstone, Ian was a partner at Montague Goldsmith (Switzerland), a principal investor in real estate and private equity in Europe and Asia, where he was lead partner for its transaction finance and private equity activities. He also led the establishment and business development of SM Capital, its South Africa affiliate for private equity investments in Africa.


Prior to Montague Goldsmith, Ian spent over 10 years in investment banking in the M&A and financial sponsors groups at JP Morgan and Bear Stearns in New York, and as a Managing Director with Lehman Brothers in Hong Kong where he focused on private equity transactions across Asia. Prior to his MBA, Ian was the first (and only) analyst in Advent International’s London office.


Through his 20+ year career in finance, Ian has gained experience in numerous aspects of investment banking and investing, principally related to private equity. He holds the CFA, CAIA and FRM designations, and an MBA from Wharton Business School.

She leverages her expertise in markets & microstructure, liquidity sourcing, and automated trading algorithms to improve execution tactics, minimize slippage, increase capacity, and develop new strategies. In addition to her daily duties, she is involved in several business initiatives at the firm.


Ms. Warren is a trustee on the board of directors for Narcolepsy Network Inc., a national non-profit organization. She is also an active member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds and Financial Women’s Association. She enjoys playing pool, poker, and spending time with her husband John along with their 18-year old dog in Manhattan.
